2 Month Check Up

Ava had her 2 Month check up on Wednesday. It went very well. The doctor said she is doing great and was still amazed at how alert she is for a 2 month old. :-) She weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. and was 22 1/2 inches long. She gained 1 1/2 lbs. in the last month! She is definitely filling out. Since it was her 2 month appointment, she had to get her shots!!! I was prepared emotional and medically...I had the Tylenol ready! :-) She got 2 shots in each leg. I was told by the doctor that they really cry for the first 2 shots and then don't even realize they are getting the other 2 because they are still crying over the first ones. Well, that wasn't the case with Ava. She kept crying harder and harder. Afterwards, the doctor said that is the hardest she's ever heard a 2 month old cry! Poor little Ava! She calmed down as soon as we left the office and got into the car. She was so tired and slept the entire night. You can see her Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck bandaids in this picture. She was so cute!

Ava had a big day yesterday as well. We met Curt at his office for lunch and Ava got to meet most of his coworkers. She was her normal self...smiling, laughing, and talking all afternoon. By the time we got home, she was starting to get a little fussy and I realized that she had a fever. I immediately panicked and called my Aunt Faith for advice. She immediately calmed me down and said it was nothing to worry about and to just give her some Tylenol. After about an hour, she calmed down and then slept through the night once again. She's doing much better today.

As some of you know, my family threw a shower for us back at Christmas. Well, at the shower everyone decorated a onesie for the little baby (we didn't know that she was a girl so it was a bit difficult). She finally fits into them and as she wears them, you will see pictures of her modeling them off. Here is the first one made by my sister Jenn. She isn't quite "Daddy's Little Helper" yet but I'm sure she will be when she gets bigger. Thanks Jenn!


That's about all for now. We are just enjoying our life with Ava. We can't believe she is already 2 months old. Time flies when you're having fun! :-)
