Splash Park

Ava and I went to a splash park today with our friends Katie and Gavin.  Luckily, Ava is still so petite that she still fits in her infant carrier and still has to be rear-facing but at least we could all ride in 1 car.  She enjoyed the ride because she could sit back and look at Gavin....and HOLD HIS HAND!!!  It was so cute.  Katie and I looked back at them and they were just sitting there holding hands.  You can't see Ava since she's rear-facing but you can see that they are holding hands.
They had so much fun at the splash park.  Here a some of the pictures that I took.  We're lovin' Florida!!!  :)

1 Year Checkup

Ava had her 1 year check up this morning.  She weighed in at 18 lbs. 12 oz. which puts her in the 12th percentile!  :)  She is 29 inches tall which puts her in the 50th percentile!  She's still our little petite girl.  Our doctor was very pleased with everything that Ava is doing....walking; saying Mama and Dada; putting the phone to her ear; brushing her own hair as well as Mommy and Daddy's; plays peek-a-boo; and uses her pincher fingers to grasp food or objects.  Ava still isn't a big eater.  I could barely get her to eat anything today.  Very frustrating but the doctor said not to worry about it, she'll eat when she's hungry.  She does not like any type of baby food now.  She wants all finger food and doesn't want you to feed her!  :)  This makes it a little easier on us.  But, harder to make sure she is getting all of her vitamins and nutrients.  So, we are starting her on a little Pediasure once a day just to give her a little extra since she doesn't love to eat!  She got 1 shot today, the Hepatitis A and she did pretty good.  She was a little fussy this afternoon but not too bad.  Ava has also recently learned how to throw a temper tantrum!  Apparantly, it's payback for all those times I put my parents through it.  Ava put on quite the show in the doctors office and made sure Dr. Burzynksi knew what she was doing at home to Mommy and Daddy.  Dr. Burzynski was shocked that such a sweet little girl could throw that big of a tantrum but also said it's completely normal...she's going through the terrible 1's!!!!  But, most likely she won't go through the terrible 2's.  It's a trade off!

Well, that's the update for today.  She goes back to the doctor for her 15 month checkup in August.

She loves the...

Park.  Last night, we took a walk to the park so Ava could go on the swings and play on the playground.  She loves the swings but hasn't quite figured out the point of the playground yet.  She just walked around the playgroun picking up wood chips.  :)  Luckily, only a few made it to her mouth.  While at the playground, we ran into some friends who have 3 boys who are 3, 1 1/2 and 3 months old.  Ava enjoyed following them around the park but they were just a little faster than she is but she managed to still keep up.  It was really cute!  I didn't get pictures of her with the boys, maybe next time.

Ava has her 1 year check up this morning.  I will post an update on her appointment this afternoon.  Poor girl has to get shots!!  :(

Our friends Shari, Breanna and Tim. (It was also Tim's birthday today-Happy Birthday Tim!)
Just wondering what's next!
Ava's friend Lucas Barfield.  He's 2 days older than Ava.

Ava with her angry face.  I think she was looking at the 2 older girls wondering why they were opening her presents!  It was hilarious! :)

Ava with her new sippy cup from her friend Lucas Barfied.  There wasn't even anything in it but she liked it anyway!

The skirt and matching shirt that my friend Katie made for Ava.  She sewed the skirt and then sewed the pattern onto the shirt!  She's so talented!  She's the same one that made the invites!  Thanks Katie!  We love it and got lots of compliments at church today!  :)
Ava's friend Nathan.  Guess Ava's not the only one that likes it up there!  He is a future DJ in the making! (His Dad is a DJ on the side :))
Ava opening some of her gifts.
Ava after the party looking through all of her gifts!

Birthday Cake!

GiGi (Great-Grandma Clouse) and I made Ava a doll cake for her birthday.  Here is a picture of Ava with GiGi and the cake.  Not only did it look great but it tasted great too!

I'm Walking!

She started walking on Tuesday, May 12th!  She is now walking all over the house and barely crawls anywhere.  It's funny to watch because she is such a petite girl! Sorry it's sideways.  I don't know how to flip it!  :(

MY BIRTHDAY.....

CHAIR!!!  Mommy, Daddy and Grandpa and Grandma Cattanach bought me my first chair!  I was so excited when I got it in the mail today and Mommy couldn't wait to put it together!  The chair is pink with white polka dots and has her name embroidered on the back of the chair.  She loves it!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Our newly decorated....

Family Room.  With the help of our friend/interior decorator, Sharon (Shari's Mom), we redecorated our family room.  We sold our old sofa and loveseat and bought a sectional.  We love it and this has become my favorite room in the house.  We also bought a new rug and curtains that coordinated with the sectional.  We also painted the walls a light blue color.

Just Having...

...FUN!  Here are a few pictures of Ava just having fun over the past few weeks.
Playing on my zebra!  She loves this thing and will get on and off of it all day long!

Pushing her baby around the house on her walker.  I think we might need to buy her a stroller for her baby soon!  :)  If she can't find her baby, she will use anything but she really likes to have something on it.  This morning, she put my cell phone on it and walked around the house.  Crazy girl!
This is a normal expression for Ava!  :)

Crawling up on the entertainment center.  She loves to play with the stereo and thinks she is pretty cool when she turns it on and off over and over again!  :)
Daddy built her a fort in the entertainment center.  She loved sitting there with her pillows and books.  How cute!
