Fun with Gavin

Ava's friend Gavin came over to the house to play last week.  They had a lot of fun playing with all of the toys.  Here are a few pictures of them playing together.

Baby Steps

Ava took her first steps today!  YAY AVA!!!  After some practice using her walker, she was standing against the wall and turned around and took about 5 steps to get to a toy.  Now she is trying to walk all over the place.  Her confidence is building and she's getting more steady.  It won't be long before she's walking all over the house on her own....hopefully by her birthday in 11 days!  :)  Here is a video of her walking from Mommy to Daddy.

Walker

We have really been working with Ava on her walking. We would like her to walk by her first birthday, but you know, she will only do it when she's ready. She is now walking all over the house in the walker though. Here is a video of her walking throughout the house. She hasn't figured out how to steer yet so we have to help her with that. She gets really frustrated when she runs into things too...it's pretty funny. Hope you enjoy it!

A Fun Sunday!

On Sunday, Ava and I had a fun afternoon. After church, Daddy had to study for one of his final exams coming up in the next week. So, Ava and I went outside in the yard and played for awhile. I set up a blanket with a bunch of toys and books on it. But of course, she didn't want anything to do with the blanket or anything on it. She wanted to crawl around on the grass and pick at it. So, that is what she did! :) Here are a few pictures of her from our fun afternoon. There is also a video of her crawling on the grass. And no, she's not crawling like this because she's on the grass. She now crawls like this all of the time. Sometimes with just 1 leg up and the other knee down but rarely with both knees down. She's pretty funny!

To end our day, we headed over to Ava's best friend Bre's house. I sewed Bre a little taggie blanket and wanted to take it over to her. This is Ava sitting in Bre's new chair that she got for Easter. Ava absolutely loved it! She would not let Bre sit in it and kept crawling in and out of it.

WE LOVE BATH TIME!!!

Bath time is always so much fun in our house. Even if she is extremely tired, a bath will always calm her down and make her happy. One of us usually sits on the side of the tub with our feet in and lately she likes us to stomp our feet around to make more bubbles. Well, as you can see in the video, she found something fun to do afterwards! She's hilarious! We ran out of bubbles a few nights ago and she still tries to do it but then finds out that it's not as fun! Hope you enjoyed her wipeout at the end too! She didn't even cry!!! :)

Easter Present!

Daddy, Mommy, Papa and Nana bought Ava a little pool for Easter. After church and her nap this afternoon, we decided to give it a try. Ava loved it and it was so nice to just have a little pool in the backyard. Normally we would have to walk a few blocks to go to the pool and then the pool is an adult pool and is hard for Ava to really enjoy. Here are some pictures from our relaxing day in the pool!

Ava and I drove to Daytona Beach on Wednesday to visit my cousin Katie. It was her first time meeting Aunt Katie and we all had a great time! Thanks Katie! We love you!
