37 Weeks

This week has been extremely busy. This is my last week of work so I've been busy trying to get everything ready at school. I think everything is finished and the transition for the kids will be good. My substitute is really young and should be really good with the kids. Tomorrow is my last day with them and it's kind of sad. It wasn't bad until today when they left and I realized that I only have 1 more day with them. But, I'm really excited to be finished with work and can now focus on getting everything ready at home.

Curt and I are going to the hospital tonight for a tour. I am really excited for this because Curt has never seen the hospital before and it might as well be a resort. It's the nicest hospital I've ever seen...granite everything, water fountains, etc. Then on Saturday and Sunday, we have our lamaze class. We weren't going to do a class but I found out that my insurance pays for the class so we decided to do it anyway. We are excited for this as well.

I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Everything looks great. The babys heartbeat was good and my doctor thinks the baby is about 4 1/2-5 pounds. I will go back to see him on Wednesday. Only 3 more weeks left!!! :-)

Curt loves this picture! He thought it was hilarious that the plate could just stay on my belly. Hey, it comes in handy! :-)

Nursery

My Mom and my sister are here visiting for the weekend. We have been busy getting things ready around the house and making coffee (decaf) runs to Barnies (the local coffee shop). We have managed to paint the nursery walls, paint the changing table, buy necessary items, and organize the nursery. My church friends had a shower for me on Saturday and we were truly blessed with many wonderful gifts from wonderful friends. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy. Only 40 more days to go!

32 Weeks

Here is a picture of me at 32 weeks. I have been sick with a cold/virus for about 2 weeks now. On Friday, my doctor put me on an antibiotic because it wasn't getting better and we didn't want it to turn into something worse. I am feeling much better now that I've been on the medicine for 4 days. Other than that, I'm feeling great! I haven't lost all of my energy yet but have found it difficult to pick things up off the floor or tie my shoes. Luckily, I live in Florida and I usually wear sandals! :-) I went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything looked great. We found out how the baby is positioned and felt the baby's head...which has turned into the correct position instead of being breached! YEAH!! I have another appointment on April 7th and then I start my weekly appointments. Less than 7 weeks left to go!!!

My spring break started on Friday. I have a list of things that I want to get done now so that I don't have to do it later while I'm working. My Mom and sister come down on Thursday to help paint the nursery and attend a shower with my friends. I'm looking forward to some girl bonding time and hopefully some relaxing in there somewhere.

Work Baby Shower

My school had a shower for me in early March. It was a joint shower with another co-worker who is due 9 days after me. It was a lot of fun and we were blessed with many wonderful gifts from very generous friends. Here are some pictures from the shower.

Nursery

The nursery is slowly coming together. My Aunt Judy made a valance that will match all of the bedding. My Aunt Faith is busy working on the quilt and then my Mom is making the bumper and skirt. Our nursery colors are teal and chocolate and we plan on painting the walls in April when my sister comes down for a visit.

Here are a few pictures of the valance up in the nursery. We absolutely love it and can't wait to have the walls painted to match it. :-) Thank you Judy!!!

Our crib is almost finished!!! My Dad has been busy building the crib since we first announced that we were expecting. He finished cutting everything out this week and has put it all together. Here are a few pictures of him with the crib. I can't believe he made this! He is so talented!! :-) Now he just has to stain it. We have chosen a darker stain that is similar to a dark brown so that it will match the bedding. He will bring the crib down to Florida when they come in May for our babies birth! I hope you all enjoy the pictures.

28 Weeks

So, I've been really bad at getting updates on here but I'll try to get better now that I'm getting big. This picture is of me at 28 weeks.

I am feeling good. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said that everything looks good and the baby is doing great. Curt and I are starting to get the nursery ready since we only have 12 weeks left before the baby arrives. We are very excited. We have decided on a boy and girls name but have decided that we are not going to tell anyone until the baby gets here. :-) Sorry for those of you who really wanted to know. This baby is just one big surprise!!!

Well, that's all for now...Happy Valentine's Day!

20 Week Ultrasound

OUR LITTLE BABY
I had my 20 week ultrasound today. It went very well. It was so exciting to see the baby moving around. The technician had some difficulty getting good pictures because our little baby is breached. It's feet are up by the hands which made it very difficult to get some good pictures. We did not find out what we are having! It will be a surprise to all! :-) Everything looked good though and the due date is still May 16, 2008! Here are some of the pictures that we got to take home. We hope that you can tell what they are.

This is the baby's foot.

This is another profile picture.

This is a profile picture but you can see the nose, lips, and chin. That is what the 3 arrows are pointing to.

Merry Christmas from Detroit

Merry Christmas Everyone! Curt and I are in the process of traveling to WI but have gotten stuck in Detroit due to a snow storm. I was going to upload a few pictures of us but realized that our memory stick doesn't fit in our computer. OOPS I will upload pictures later this week. Curt and I both wish you a Merry Christmas and hope to see most of you very soon.
